Stayed here as part of a wedding party. I say stayed. We checked out early and found alternative accommodation. The hotel is an old building which hasnt had much investment in a long time. The carefully curated photos on its Google listing dont reflect the poorly maintained and quite shabby reality that awaits you. Staff are meh quite abrasive and not at all helpful. If your the poor sod who gets the Captain Cook family suite on the night when an event is taking place, best of luck. You are going to need it. Your right over the sound system and dance floor and you and your kids have zero chance of getting any sleep. Its not the fault of the bride and groom. They should be able to party all night on their big day if they want to, but the suite above the event space should never be let on a party night. Its just greed by the hotel. Food was mediocre at best. Dry overcooked chicken, school dinner style boiled to death veg, cheap booze. It has some parking and is right on the sea front which is the only endearing features. Staff refused any kind of recompense for wholly unsuitable accommodation. I would be wiser with your money than I was and book a Premier Inn or Travelodge instead.
