UPDATE: 02.04.23: I've ordered from here about three times since my original review and the service and food are consistently excellent, even on a Saturday when it's busy. Honestly, this place is fantastic! The food is absolutely beautiful, always piping hot and the service is great! Original review: I don't know where to start. I'm honestly in shock when it comes to this place. I really enjoy Chinese and far East Asian food, but nothing spicy. I had no idea this place was here, I'd never heard of it. Honestly I've been happy with the places I've been ordering from, until tonight. Golden City absolutely blows them all out of the water and honestly, it's been a real eye opener in terms of portion sizes - they're huge! The quality is much better here too. I called the order in and the lady was very helpful and friendly. The pricing is in line with other Chinese take away stores, but the portions and the quality are far superior. We were warned it would be over an hour due to it being busy, but it arrived piping hot in 50 minutes, on a Saturday! I ordered the salt and pepper chicken. It was the most beautiful salt and pepper I've ever tasted, the chicken was high quality and not the rubbery stuff you sometimes get. The shredded crispy chicken in Peking sauce was absolutely divine! The chips were the best I've had from a take away. The outsides were lovely and crispy, and fluffy inside. My parents really enjoyed their noodles and their chicken and char siu egg fried rice. The food and service were both absolutely fantastic. The portions here are extremely generous. For the same price I pay normally, I received twice as much food, and it was much nicer. I'm glad we listened to the recommendation from my dad's friend! Thank you Golden City, we'll be back!
