    Where to start with my experience from Christabel and Keats. I was mislead to believe I was purchasing a brand new Ronald Joyce wedding dress. Luckily I turned down the free fittings I was offered as I had a brilliant seamstress in mind. If it wasnt for this decision I would have never known what was about to happen next. My seamstress, to my surprise, explained to me that my brand new dress had been altered before. This was heartbreaking to hear when I had paid 1200 for the dress! The seamstress pointed out all the alterations that had already been done, she showed me the size label had been removed, there was a stone missing, there was no shoe string straps/extra stones or label that would usually be in with the dress and the hook and eye was also damaged. Christabel and Keats did say they had put a new hook and eye in the pocket. Not sure which pocket they meant though if Im honest. There was also a mark on the front of the dress. After going back to Christabel and Keats to explain the situation they just kept saying they needed to contact the designer. Ronald Joyce definitely do not send their dresses out this way. I asked to see the sample dress I originally tried on back in September but I was told it has been sold. After this I was refunded 600 back to the credit card. To my surprise when it had cleared, not only was I refunded the 600, they firstly charged another 600 to the card!! Im not 100% sure how they managed this but I have statements to prove it and also spoke to the credit card company. After issues with delivery, the issue my dress wasnt new and now the fact they agreed to a refund but didnt actually refund anything. I decided (20 days before my wedding!!) I no longer wanted the dress. I contacted Citizens Advice consumer helpline and was given instructions of what to do next. After sending two letters via recorded post, I was finally refunded the full amount and I returned the dress. Ive never had a full, clear explanation of what actually happened other than the paper work was messed up in the beginning. I dont usually write good or bad reviews but this experience has been so upsetting and difficult I feel anyone considering buying their wedding dress from this store deserves to know my experience with them.
