The Retreat

Me and my partner visited The Retreat for our anniversary and I genuinely couldn't think of a single bad thing to say about this self catering holiday. Carl and Lesley greeted us in and we quickly became comfortable and settled. The goats on site were such a delight to pet and feed just an added bonus to the experience. The hot tub was absolutely divine especially due to there being hardly any light or sound pollution in the area, you were able to sit back relax and peacefully gaze up at the stars. Overall The Retreat is a no brainer in peaceful getaways and I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

We have just returned from the Retreat as a family of 17 having sole occupancy of all the accommodation. The experience was great from the moment we arrived and being greeted by the owners Leslie and Carl. The accommodation itself was lovely. Both hot tubs were in daily use the views from which were gorgeous. The grandchildren fed the goats regularly and made the most of the pitch and put golf. We had a couple of BBQ's which went down well, relaxing in the summer evenings. Carl was very informative about the surrounding area, and it's history and was very good interacting with the children. We took 2 dogs and they played with "Buddy " the resident Collie. Overall our stay was brilliant and I would highly recommend "The Retreat" as the place to stay in such a beautiful part of the country. A stone's throw from the village of "Clovelly" .Thanks also to both Leslie and Carl who were so lovely as nothing was too much trouble . Thanks again for such a wonderful week.
