Number 1 Church View | Taddington | Peak District

Very well equipped, but not much character - generic rental decor, cushions (which have to live on the floor in order to use the furniture) and plastic plants everywhere. Cramped space outside filled by a table, not really somewhere to spend any time. The village itself has a pub (nice food), but no shop, and is graveyard quiet, possibly reflecting lots of second homes/rentals. Overall, it's a decent base for access to Buxton, Bakewell etc., but I wouldn't revisit next time we're staying in the Peak District. Pre-arrival info, directions and access were all very good. The 9am departure was repeatedly reminded by the rental company - a Covid constraint apparently, together with 5pm arrival and strip your own bedding.

We had a few nights there in October 2020 and it was perfect particularly when they were dealing with Covid 19. I met my daughter there and grandchildren who live in Edinburgh and I live in Wiltshire and I hadn't seen them since last Christmas. We went to Chatsworth, Buxton and Bakewell and had a lovely time. The house was very well equipped and in just the right place. We hope to go back again when all this is over.

Terrific property to rent from Peak Venues. The kitchen is really well equipped , the cleaning room has shoe racks, a washing machine and all the equipment needed by walkers. The beds and bunk beds are terrific, as are the wood burning stove and underfloor heating. The two showers and bath are amazing at the end of a hard day. The village of Taddington is full of friendly folk and the village pub is always full of guests - probably because of the good beer and the food they serve. Great place for walkers, family groups and couples with (like us) local friends and family who can stay.
