So the Positives: - Dog friendly with enclosed garden - Modern property; nicely equipped, even had a washing machine, ironing board, clothes airer, travel sized hairdryer (although got very hot quickly) & Dyson hoover. - Car Parking to the rear - Wine within the purchase if wanted. - Woodburner - Underfloor heating - Access to seperate 'paddock' area.. great to let the dog off the lead safely; shame about the dog poo left by others. - Owners live in the road, close by and knowledgeable. The Negatives: The Location: - Chelmorton itself wasn't the village we envisaged, more of a small road with a pub at one end, no other amenities. - Whilst there were walks nearby, public transport was poor therefore we had to use the car, unlike other places we stayed in Peak District. So for us the location of the property was not ideal. The Property: - The property must been on a flight path, airplanes could be heard loudly at night. - Whilst bins, no recycling options. - The wood for the woodburner appeared to be laminate unit with locking mechanism, not wood. If used the note requested that we purchase wood to replace. - The bath jets pumped out black bits and the extractor was either not working or not strong enough. - Rear window had no blind, therefore open to the car park.. lacked privacy. - Blu Tac on fridge door - Greater attention to detail may be needed; I.e. Toilet seat & toilet roll holder and open used coffee & sugar with bits in.

This cottage was a lovely place to stay, we saw on other posts that the settee was a bit uncomfortable at first we thought it was fine but it sunk in the middle alot and was a pain after you was sat on it for some length of time, wouldn't let this put you off though as it's got everything else you could want, you can only have a bath as the shower is only useful for washing your hair as it's at a lower point for that reason I sat in the bath and had a shower that way so there is ways and means. These are only small things you can still have a lovely time and the village pub serves great food and guest ales, but yes I would still recommend this cottage.
