Great camp-site. There is toilets and showers, You can have camp fires where other places don't let you.

The campsite is in a good location and it is great that we can have fires and barbeques, with a well stocked lake. However over recent years the condition of the site has deteriorated with little care from the owner about upkeep. Many of the fishing bays are unusable or dangerous. Last year we had to cut many branches back to enable us to fish, and the owner was hesitant to do any of this himself. The lake needs attention to get it safe for anglers and the fish. In recent visits we have pulled out a lot of waste, including a carrier bag of used barbeques and spiked strips from the end of scaffold boards. When there are 20lb+ carp present, more care needs to be taken, and effort should be out into ensuring anglers have the correct equipment to safely land fish. One of the pathways around the lake was obstructed by long brambles - another sign that enough care isn't taken of this site. There was a shower block recently removed from the site, with the argument being it was due to covid, which seemed illogical. The current block with 1 shower each and 2 toilets is not enough when capacity is high and the portaloos regularly run out of loo roll and have no hand sanitizer. The owner needs to take some pride in this site, which would be much appreciated when it seems all he does do is collect cash.
