Gorgeous spa, stunning inside, relaxing music sometimes, depends if its been put on or not! But the led ceiling is so pretty and the whole setting is just so relaxing! Ive recently become a member here and Im so happy I made that decision! Perfect to wind down after work, even to just relax on the loungers for a few hours! Only downside is its extremely busy with hotel/spa guests on weekends but not overly bothered as i make up the time through the week! Overall extremely pleased! Just what I needed!

Booked the spa which was complimentary with our hotel stay only to be told by spa reception there was no need to book. (I would maintain the booking system to keep the numbers to a reasonable level). The spa dining are looks nice, the changing rooms are a good standard with costume spin dryer, hair dryer & GHD straighteners, free towel hire too! The showers have complimentary shampoo, conditioner & body wash which is nice. The pool area was nice & compact with a steam room, sauna & jacuzzi around the pool. On the downside I think that guidance to use lockers would be useful as each visitor ended up helping the next to navigate, spin dryer could be cleaner (the lid needs a good wipe down to remove black mould) & busy areas could be better maintained & less slippy .There is drinking water available at spa reception but more around the pool would be great to keep you hydrated whilst using the facilities. Little things could make the experience much nicer & more of a 5* experience could easily be achieved. I would visit again as part of my hotel stay.

Totally overpriced disappointing experience. My friend had organised a spa day for us all which we were all really looking forward too. The package included lunch and 4 hours in the spa. On arrival we filled out the forms required and were then told "the weekend packages don't include food" which we found to be a little strange, especially considering the cost of the package, but thought maybe we had misread. We then were told there weren't any robes which they did apologise for and didn't pose too much of an issue as we were heading into the spa anyway and wouldn't necessarily need a robe. We were told they'd bring us some in a little while when they had more. The changing rooms were very modern and clean, (the only exception being the costumer dryer which had what looked like black mould inside the lid) plenty of lockers, you then follow it through to get into the pool/steam/sauna/jacuzzi area. When we walked in, we realised there was nowhere to sit. It felt like the afternoon session had been overbooked because it was so busy - I think if more beds had been available it wouldn't have felt so busy. One of my friends had to grab a chair while myself and the other friend were perched on one of the beds. A little while later my friend checked her phone and noticed on the confirmation email it did include food so we went back to the desk to double check. Oona very kindly double checked this for us and confirmed we did have food included so made sure the kitchen could accomodate our request and let us know when it would be ready. When we came out, we still didn't have robes and I felt a little uncomfortable going into the restaurant in my swimsuit with just a towel. It was also very cold in comparison to inside the spa. Luckily Oona took pity on me and managed to find a robe so I wasn't sat shivering. We were brought our food by a really polite friendly young waitress. The original dark haired receptionist then came over and started questioning her right next to us, suggesting that we should not have been given food despite the fact it had been confirmed that it was included (in writing, and by Oona). I felt extremely uncomfortable with her talking right next to us, about us. It was an absolutely appalling show of "customer service". I noticed on our way back Oona seemed to be running around, presumbly fixing the problems caused by the original receptionist. I have to admit the food was delicious, so a star is deserved for that and the wonderful Oona. I would strongly recommend to management that the dark haired receptionist is given some customer service training on how not to make paying customers feel they are a burden. I would not recommend The Harrogate Spa and would warn people off it if asked.
