This was my first experience of inpatient mental health services and to summarise I did not find it helpful to my recovery. There is a serious lack of inpatient psychological interventions available which in my opinion is imperative to recovery, it felt more like a prison than a hospital for people who are experiencing one of the worst times of their lives. The staff did not communicate effectively with patients leaving me feeling frustrated and invalidated. There seemed to be serious issues with staffing and resources from patient care delivery to basic entitlement such as food. I felt at times I was over medicated to be silenced and felt this was inhumane . The general consensus from other peers on the ward was that our care was poorly managed and if we had of been in an nhs setting our quality of care would of been more sufficient and beneficial to our recovery

someone should take a look at this men's facility because the staff here are terrible I was suicidal I went to the staff to ask to speak to me my request was ignored because I'm in section two I can't leave the hospital alone for two days I asked someone to go to the store with me or buy some something and I was ignored again I hit my hand with all my strength because I got angry that everyone is ignoring me here I went to the employee to ask for a cold compress I heard that they had it and I was ignored again when I told the staff that I felt ignored here and they said that no one ignores me here which is not true I went here to help me and I'm staying here for a week and I feel worse my suicidal thoughts and self-destructiveness intensified a year ago I was also in cygnet hospital in Bury where we could use disposable e-cigarettes I don't understand why we cant do here where normally in the room we can keep e-cigarettes with removable batteries
