Spartans Academy of Krav Maga

The instructors at the Spartans Academy are proficient and take their time to not only demonstrate the techniques of Krav Maga, but also go to great lengths to explain the legal aspects of what is considered "self-defense" in the UK. As a foreigner to the UK, understanding what is allowed and how certain actions can be perceived are invaluable. They focus on being able to disable an opponent quickly and decisively, and leave the area safely. One always hopes that the need will never arise to put such techniques into practice, but in a World of certainty it's great knowing a set of skills that increases your chances of survival.

It's an amazing place to develop your skills in self defence and awareness even if you start basically from scratch. The class is well led by professional instructors in a friendly environment and I'm proud to say that I'm part of this class.

So glad there is finally a professional Krav Maga Self Defence Class in Harrogate. Spartans Academy provide fun and friendly classes instructed by expert coaches and teach the most up-to-date, usable, self defence there is.

After reading the reviews of a variety of self defence classes, Spartans Academy of Krav Maga, Self Defence Harrogate was by far the most highly rated and, after attending a free taster class, I could see why and I was hooked! As a girl with very little self defence skills or knowledge I was nervous about the training, how it would suit me, how it would fit in with my current fitness regime but most of all, how it would benefit in real life self defence situations, my main purpose for joining. At the initial session I was highly impressed by the skills and knowledge of all the instructors, who teach not only techniques and strategies for getting out of particularly difficult situations, but also the legal aspects of defending yourself. The techniques are broken down and always fully explained in a way which helps you develop critical thinking skills, which really helps in difficult situations. Highly recommended for all ages and abilities!
