We recently had the New Forest 650 square electric fire installed by Stonehouse and the whole experience was good from visiting the showroom in Harrogate , the survey visit and advice given and finally the quality of the installation all superb. We love the fire!

The three stars are firstly for the lovely fireplace and the help given in choosing it. Also for the most competent and professional work of the fitters. The loss of two stars is firstly for the brief, casual survey in which no regard was paid to the possible problems a decommissioned back boiler might pose.Indeed it was later implied that I was at fault. The other lost star is for the reaction of the company when it became apparent the fitting would have to be halted so that an inspection by a plumber would be required. This was left to me to sort and to pay for the 4 hours of work involved. I have received no apology for the delays, no acceptance of any responsibility for the problems, and no money for the plumber's labours. The company's reasoning for this seems to make rational sense to them but not to me as a customer. Companies are best judged not when all goes smoothly but for their reaction when problems arise.

Excellent customer service through the entire process. We are really happy with our fireplace and feel it was great value. Sales team were friendly and responsive ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO POST INSTALL! The survey guy was super knowledgable and thought of everything and the install team were extra conscientious-- suggesting a change of a detail on the day to ensure a perfect install given our changed requirements of our floor (we decided on restoration of floor instead of new floor the night before(!), which changed the hearth details). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
