Purchased an item for staff member of hotel we were staying at. She was thrilled to bits with it. Not open on Sundays, though, which was her big disappointment.

One of those delightfully eclectic independent shops that you could find forty years ago but which have sadly been swamped by mass produced modern retailers. Be prepared for an Aladdin's Cave packed to the ceilings with travel bags and accessories, twinkling little crystal animals, photo frames, keyrings, wallets and purses, handbags, christening gowns, and a zoo of cuddly animals and teddy bears! Stockists of Steiff, Charlie Bears, Jelly Cat. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful - there is an old fashioned quality feel to their customer service. I suggest lunch at "Betty's" or "The Ivy" followed by a leisurely stroll across the road and a wander into Maturi's followed by a walk down Parliament Street or up James Street!

After my visit from the famous Betty's tea room, Maturi was only a minute's walk and I was instantly attracted to their amazing window display, I was drawn to the cuddly toys, the colours, the huge variety of gifts... Perfect for picking up a treat for myself, friends and family. Staff are so friendly and helpful. They have souvenirs, bags, leather goods, purses, toys, luggage, and lots, lots more. I treated myself to a healthy back bag, not seen one of these before and the staff were brilliant at showing me the bag, the compartments and allowing me test out the bags and check out the array of colours! Loved it, I went back for more! Missing it already, already one of my favourite shops in Harrogate.

Nice and friendly people serving I was looking for a small birthday present for my daughter's boyfriend got it and was happy with the purchase
