A friendly and honest company to use if you are thinking of having any design /build/work done to your home. They are very good at listening to your ideas and very prompt at getting the work done. I would highly recommend them.

We visited House of Harrogate for a team away day in December, using the Acoustic Pixel cinema room facilities to present and host team building activities. The customer service and facilities are second to none. We loved our experience and will certainly be using the space again.

Extremely expensive and extremely poor service. We regret using House of Harrogate for our bathroom renovations. We wanted to get two small bathrooms and a cloakroom redone. We thought paying more than average would get us quality and excellent service. This was not the case. The project had a catalogue of problems due to poor communication and management, and multiple days and weeks where no-one showed up to work. The showroom looks wonderful and the service is fantastic to begin with. Robyn, the designer, is brilliant and excellent at her job. Once we agreed to go ahead with the work and paid the deposit, the problems started. Here are a few of the problems we had (there were many more issues than this). 1. Three months delay to the initially suggested start date of the work; 2. The initially agreed gap of 1-2 weeks between doing the bathrooms was extended to nearly 2 months, meaning the project ended up taking 5 months to complete, mostly due to extended periods where no work was done, and no time scales for completion. This meant 5 months of not having any bathrooms fully in order, as there were problems with all of them; 3. Extremely poor communication from the first project manager - his answer phone message literally said Ill be honest with you, I wont be listening to this message.; 4. Several occasions where we were told workman would be coming and no-one turned up; 5. Loss of project manager without being told - we only found out he had left his job and that we were without a project manager when we called when no-one turned up for work; 6. No improvement in communication from head office once the project manager left - every message or email we left needed at least 3 or 4 chases to get a response; 7. Several problems that required repeat visits as the workmanship by some workman was not done well. No compensation was offered, and when we asked for some, we were offered a 0.007% discount on the total - not representative of the poor service we received. They eventually went up to a 0.02% discount. I will reiterate that the designer, Robyn, is fantastic and communicates very well and is the reason this review has two stars rather than one. She should really go solo.
