They have a legal aid contract, send housing cases to a paralegals, who don't even make an accurate record of the claim, let alone having the relevant legal expertise. No specific adviser is allocated to a claim (as another review accurately states) and then they try to farm the claim off onto a local solicitors firm with a legal aid contract, stating that it needs judicial review- when no decision has been issued to review. In my case, the records they kept weren't even accurate. Watson Woodhouse seem to be a con, syphoning off public funds to let a secretary give you the contact details of genuine solicitors offices (whether they can help or not), and leaving very vulnerable people in the lurch. An absolute disgrace. If public money is being used, it ought to be going to a reputable, trust worthy firm- not just a scam with unqualified people filling in forms, then passing 'clients' a list of local solicitors offices, (who are snowed under and don't have the capacity to take on a judicial review, even if a decision had been issued which a judge could review! ) Worse, in my case they gave me the incorrect information- one firm they gave me the details of didn't even have a public law contract ,and another didn't cover my area. Nice little bread-and butter style earner, to prop up privately funded claims, using unqualified staff to maximize profit. Criminal, ethically if not legally.
