Digital Converters

Can't recommend these guys highly enough. I basically had 4 VHS tapes from the 90s I wanted converted to mp4, I initially tried to do it myself by buying some DIY kit of cables and borrowing the in-laws' VHS player which they had in a cupboard, none of this worked as I hoped it would for a variety of reasons (the VHS player didn't have the correct ports for starters), and in the end it was just a huge waste of money (about 35 down the toilet). I found this company online, and went with them -- the whole process from start to finish was great. Very professional, everything clearly explained, and a speedy turnaround of about 5 days (with a weekend sandwiched in the middle). Basically worked out at around 15 per tape all-in, regardless of how long the tape is. I was surprised at how good quality the footage was after all these years, I half-expected the tapes to be unsalvageable, but they seemed to be in as good a shape as they were at the time. Most places you read online say that VHS tapes really deteriorate over 25-30 years, and I'm sure some might do, but in this instance I didn't see any degradation in quality at all. All I'd say is, those DIY online kit things that you can buy really aren't worth it unless you have dozens or hundreds of tapes to convert. If you do, then it probably is more cost-effective to try it yourself if you can access a VHS player and have a bit of technical nous. Otherwise, it is so much more convenient and probably cheaper if you use a service like this.

This was a great experience. I felt very safe sending off our precious videos to this service as it was the courier and delivery was all recorded and seemed to be taken very seriously. We didn't know if there was anything on these video cassettes and finding that we have hours of footage of our childhood is just magical. They also did not charge if the cassette was empty which is very resonable. Highly reccomend this service.

I have just received my USB with all the tapes that were converted on it. 2 of the tapes were VHS and the other 10 are camcorder tapes. All have come out absolutely brilliant. I was a bit worried about how legit this company was, the quality of the transfers, etc but I did not need to worry at all. They kept in contact with me from beginning to end and any questions I had they answered. Absolutely brilliant company and I would 110% use them again. I cannot say enough about the service they have provided. Thank you!!!
