A blissfully beautiful wood. Come here on a hot day and you'll enjoy the shade, come here in late spring to enjoy the bluebells, come here every few weeks to see how the wood changes through the seasons. Park on Hill End Road and enjoy a circular walk through the wood, and across the field to Belfry Avenue and Park Lane, stopping at Co-op on Rickmansworth Road for an ice-cream on the way back. This is a great place for children, they love the natural playground of walking along logs, finding walking sticks, following the stream and searching out wild flowers. The wood is a truly calming place, with no road noise, just listen to the wind in the trees and saviour this wonderful corner of Middlesex.

A pleasant woodland nature reserve for a stroll. Quite small so limited paths for anyone wanting a longer hike.

A bit of a scruffy wood, nice to pass through on a walk but I would not see it as a destination to spend a large amount of time in. Fortunately there are plenty of footpaths in the area, including some big ones like the London Loop, the Hillingdon Trail and the Grand Union so would take it in as part of a longer walk that takes in Ruislip, Bayhurst and Bishops Woods as well
