Went with this company after looking at draft reports from a few providers in the area, and Janus seemed to have a lot more detail and rigour to their inspection vs the others. Ultimately very pleased with the outcome. Received a very detailed inspection/ report - went with a Type 2 survey for a property built in the 1920s - and dealt with two great guys in Rupert and Henry.

I've worked with Janus Conservation professionally for a number of years in connection with the eighteenth century Grade I listed Spencer House in London, where they have conducted several in depthsurveys for me, as well as consulting on the heritage impact of proposed works and providing project management and contract administration for high valueworks. Having demonstrated the highest levels of service and professionalism, they were the obvious choice to commission for a report on the prospectivepurchase of a fifteenth century Grade II* listed Wealden Hall House. Rupert's thorough Type 2 Condition Report and the Drainage and M&E Services Report he coordinated for us proved invaluable in our assessment of the property and ensuring we were properly informed for the negotiation and conveyancing process. We've used Janus Conservation for over a year in relation to the refurbishment of our listed home. They are both genuine heritage experts and lovely, lovely people. Always pragmatic, and refreshingly responsive, they have provided high quality advice on a wide range of surveys, designs, approvals and consents, and remain our "go to" specialists. We also found their costs to be fair and transparent. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased to have used Janus Conservation to conduct a buildings condition and services report for us on an Edwardian property we were intending to buy. The report was very thorough and enabled productive discussions to take place with the vendors. Both Oliver and Rob were very helpful and responsive to our questions post the production of the report and we felt we had done as much as possible to understand the property condition. Whilst, unfortunately our purchase fell through due to a lower part of chain pulling out very late in the day, that bears no reflection on the quality of the report and service provided by Janus. Highly recommend if buying an older property.
