Despite living in Brighton for over 40 years and being a keen wildlife photographer, I somehow managed never to visit Benfield Nature Reserve. I corrected that yesterday,on a blustery day when frankly I wasn't expecting much activity. Boy was I wrong. This is a fantastic site. There were butterflies galore, more than I've seen anywhere else so far this summer: Various Skippers, Whites, Ringlets, Meadow Browns, Marbled Whites, Red Admirals and more. I photographed Blackcaps, Goldfinch and Spotted Flycatchers and saw various others birds, bees, beetles and bugs. I shall be back within days. I've still so much more to discover here.
