Took my first trip to this dentist and the staff made me feel welcomed, the check-up went smoothly and, despite being uncomfortable with dentists normally, I felt relaxed and the next time I visit it will be without the usual dentist anxiety. P

This is a very difficult review to write because I feel so stupid. I was a patient for about 15 years at Hampstead Clinic, I trusted them. I thought they were "nice". They were my trusted professionals. In January 2021 I mentioned a little food getting stuck in my teeth. It was recommended I do Invisalign, for "3-5 months" that's all I needed. Note, my teeth weren't crooked, I was happy with them. I was never consulted on the end result what it would look like. It was clear 3 weeks in that the end result would be poor--the front teeth would be flat across and not a nice shape. I was told to finish the 3 months and then it would be reviewed. I ended up having 21!!! trips to the dentist in 2021 for "Invisalign" which turned out not to even be Invisalign but I was never corrected when I used the phrase, and I trusted them so it never occurred to me that it wasn't. It was some fake version that required me going back every 2 sets for a new mould, and then another 2 weeks wait. My gums and inside mouth were constantly chafed and with open sores. Even worse, the dentist filed so much of my teeth that he dramatically reshaped them beyond repair. I couldn't finish a meal without having to get up and floss because so much food was stuck in my teeth. I kept saying I didn't want any more filing but he didn't listen and insisted it was necessary. I also couldn't chew. Even though we were just supposed to be moving my front teeth a little, and I had a perfect bite before, I couldn't actually chew with my molars--they didn't touch. Turns out he completely messed up and the way he designed the fake invisalign threw off my entire bite to the point that only 3 tiny points of my molars touched--I had to physically pick food out of my molars, which is disgusting. They didn't even touch to be able to chew anymore. I kept telling him I didn't think this was going right and was consistently told to "chill". Or "calm down". Or "relax". I was never consulted on the shape to begin with but when after 6 months I asked when I'd be done, it kept being implied that because I changed my mind it would take longer. I knew in 3 weeks it wasn't right. I never "changed my mind". In July 2021 I asked when I'd be done--was told in a month. Kept being told next month. Finally in October he joked "if you're not done after the next set I'll retire". Finally after 12 months!!! I was referred to a proper orthodontist because I couldn't eat. I was put on a proper regimen to fix, and that took from January until now--11 months just to be able to chew and to sort of close the gaps. It's November 23, 2022. My 3-5 month treatment took 2 years. My teeth were so misshapen with his extreme filing that some gaps will now never be closed. I'm in worse shape than before I started and I will never have the gaps that didn't exist before closed. Add to that in my 21 visits he never even noticed a a massive cavity! No wonder, the office has no xrays and no scans. My new dentist immediately spotted it. Do I think he set out to purposely ruin my teeth? No. I think he's so arrogant that it didn't occur to him to ask my opinion or take my word when it was going wrong right away. I think he's so misogynistic that when I rightfully expressed my concerns he told me, a woman, to "calm down" rather than listening to me. I think he's so incompetent that rather than admitting he messed up or didn't know what he was doing, he kept going and making it worse and worse. I did ask before the treatment started how much it would be but never argued the price and NEVER would have agreed to a cheaper rate for whatever brand it was he used--it would have been worth it to me to pay fully for the correct treatment. Or given how minor the issue was to begin with, wouldn't have done it at all if I thought it was too expensive. Full disclosure, all money paid for the not-Invisalign was refunded, and he did pay for the full treatment of the Orthodontist. For the health, well being, and safety of his patients, I strongly believe this man should keep his word. Retire.

I've always had poor experiences at the dentist, and usually get quite anxious . The whole team is very profissional and caring. Dr. Elaine really put a lot of effort into making you feel relaxed and at ease. The best dentist visit I've had in a long time!
