I had chosen this hotel because of the location. The location is a great base for London, 25mins from Kings Cross and on numerous tube lines and bus routes Upon arrival, we met a young girl at the reception, she was friendly enough but failed to tell us that we were in the other building of the hotel, by this time, we had already walked up another flight of stairs with all our baggage, a bit frustrating but not the end of the world. She asked us what time we would like our breakfast delivered to our room, this was something I didnt know about, its not a typical hotel breakfast, its a small continental breakfast in a box. Its sufficient enough to get something in your belly but its not ideal and could have had a bit more to it. Our room was in building 2 and 4 floors up! No lift! Make sure you ask where your room is before booking as this is not accessible for elderly or infirm guests. Our room for 3 of us was very small and tight, we had to squeeze past wall and end of bed to move around, the beds were comfy enough. I was very disappointed to see that the room had no view at all, AT ALL! Again, unbeknown to us we had a room at the top with only a roof light at ceiling level, the room was hot and stuffy and it was only 14c outside. Our tea cups were not cleaned properly and the teaspoons had not been cleaned at all. I did call to reception and ask for another room which was not going to be possible until the 2nd day. My wife suggested that actually that room may be quieter than one with a street window, we decided to keep this room for that reason and it worked for us. The shower room was ok, a little bit tired if Im honest but the shower, the shower was fantastic!! Exactly what you need after a long day walking around London. The free wifi was intermittent and not great. Look, at the end of the day, you dont come to London to sit in your hotel room. We literally used it as a base and a bed, for that, it is fine. Would I recommend it?? On price and location, yes. On luxury, comfort, Breakfast and accessibility, definitely not. This placed worked for our needs but personally, I wont be back.
