We are very disappointed with this company, EWS, and cannot recommend them. David Little seemed very genuine and helpful and we thought that they did a good job of installing our solar system in December 2021. But within 3 months we noticed that the system was shutting down almost every day and not producing any electricity for as long as 2 hours on one occasion and we notified EWS in March 2022. They said that they would speak to the manufacturer, Solaredge, but did not come to check the system. The same problem has continued with the same response from EWS and after 5 months and numerous emails I contacted the trade body, MCS, and they said that they would step in if it was not corrected within 14 days. I notified EWS and they again said they would contact Solaredge and get back to us but we hadn't heard from them after 14 days I contacted EWS who said that they were still waiting to hear from Solaredge and and told me 'I am not sure what else you want us to do'!! EWS do not seem to accept that they are responsible for correcting this problem. I have now contacted Solaredge myself, they were very helpful and within 24 hours had made adjustments and resets to the inverter and the system is now not shutting down. Why couldn't EWS do this? We feel that we were let down over and over again by EWS, they're a local company and we wanted to support them. Sadly after our experience in our dealings with David Little, we cannot recommend them. ps See review below by David Little of his own company!

I had a solar system installed, the work was completed at a good standard and invoices were paid. The issues came when I tried to register for an SEG tariff, to sell my excess electricity back to the grid. Because EWS had not notified the DNO (distribution network operator) of the installation I could not proceed with the set up. I contacted Adam on numerous occasions to have this paperwork completed. At first I had promising responses but after 6 months of chasing, Adam no longer replys. I had the developer contact Adam regarding this matter but he also has had no response. My only option is to contact another solar installer and pay to have them inspect EWS work and register my installation.

The original review below was posted after a very challenging time with EWS. The biggest fault being their total lack of customer care at that time. I gave them a 1* review. I have now updated the review based on recent experience. UPDATED REVIEW - We had a DC Connector catch fire in the garage in July 2020. Fortunately this happened whilst I was in the garage! I rang/emailed them straight away and Mark from EWS was on site within an hour. Mark checked the system and replaced the now melted connector, leaving the system safe. I was very worried about the potential for future issues with the connectors being inside the house. 5 days later, Mark returned, re-ran the wiring from the inverter to a fireproof box situated on an external wall. This time EWS were really good. I cannot fault Mark at all, prompt attendance, rectified the issue and gave me his own phone number to contact personally with any issues pending re running the wiring. Thank you EWS and in particular Mark for getting it right this time. ORIGINAL REVIEW We had a solar system installed in 2015 which included the ability for excess generated electricity to heat water tanks prior to export. It was this piece of equipment, called Powerflow, along with the Deborah Meadon endorsement of the company that made us choose EWS over others. The Powerflow part of the system didn't work from the start. It took numerous calls and emails over 2 years to get them to send the instructions so we could be sure it wasn't us doing something wrong. They weren't interested in checking this themselves until we were sure we weren't doing something wrong. The instructions finally arrived, we weren't doing it wrong and it then took a further year of calls/emails before a visit was made. It then took 3 visits over 5 months from them to get it working. First we were told it was a sensor which was replaced. It didnt work. Then it was a wire loose, it didnt work then finally a replacement unit and it all started working at last - 3 years after installation! We asked about battery store and they did a quote for an 8kw system. It was too much money all at once so we asked for a quote to build the system in 2kw stages as they had suggested - never heard from them. We needed the inverters moving due to planned building work, it took 8 months of emails and calls before they came, delaying our building work. We had a damaged solar panel. The system is under warranty. We informed them, sent photos, they inspected it when they finally moved the inverters. They were going to let us know about warranty/replacement panel etc. After 8 months of emails and calls we've given up. We've bought a panel elsewhere and had it replaced before the damaged panel affected the whole string. We felt we had no choice but to keep dealing with them in case it affected our warranty. The installers/electricians are nice and do good tidy work when they come. The back up /after sales/warranty/customer service is non existent. We would not recommend this company and have now submitted complaints to the relevant trade bodies. I informed EWS of this prior to doing so.
