        I did the Competent Crew course with Hamble during winter months and they were excellent. Clear, friendly, helpful, patient and professional instructors. Well stocked with food and boat was similar those we've chartered before so ideal for learning on. I used public transport to get there - can grab a bus to Hamble centre from Southampton and Mercury is about 25min walk from centre of Hamble (last 50m of road doesn't have a footpath though). Can take the train to Hamble too but the station is another mile from Hamble centre.

        I attended an excellent RYA First Aid course at HSY (the instructor was Tim). The content was intermixed with a wide range of examples from the instructor's personal experience - which hugely added value to the course. I thoroughly recommend it.
