Petersham Nurseries Caf, Richmond

A must try in Richmond. The setting is phenomenal. Its a bit of a paradise you need to find by walking through fields. The atmosphere is rustic but elegant. The cockatails were all excellent. We sampled a wide variety including piscina sour, old fashioned and espresso martinis. The menu is stunning with some very nice dishes. Some of the execution was a bit off (our duck was cooked pink in the middle but not enough rendering of the fat) and the seasoning wasnt quite right for our taste but nothing outrageous. The best part of our meal was the gem lettuce appetizer, the tomato pasta and the chocolate fondant. Maybe one of the best fondants we ever had.

The place is very nice looking and surrounded by nature. However the food is less than average and the service is quite bad. Prices are high for the quality and the coffee is not good. The cakes look good but are not very tasty I even asked for the jacked potatoes to be vegetarian and they could not do that which would have meant only not using the meat based chilli sauce on top

The worst lunch I have ever had in London. Minestrone soup straight from the can and very oily cold quiche with bad taste. Beautiful place, stick to coffee.

Basically just another overpriced hyped up restaurant. Waited 30min to get a table(because they don't take bookings) Then waited another 20min to be served and then another 30min for food to arrive. Chicken was raw and had to be sent back. Come to the beautiful nursery but steer clear of the restaurant.
