Where to start?! I cant recommend Jon highly enough. My son learnt drums with Jon for around six years. I used to sit in on lessons when they were in Jons studio and then later when they went online due to Covid. The thing that strikes me the most is Jons ability to read my sons mood each week and adjust his teaching/lesson content accordingly. Always positive, and with a joke at the ready, Jon and Zach really clicked. Jon took the lead from Zach as to what he wanted to learn, while helping to guide him through increasingly challenging pieces. Zach always left lessons with a spring in his step and his listening music tastes are wide - a legacy to this. He always practised without a complaint because he wanted to please Jon each week. Zach has currently stepped away from his lessons to focus on his GCSE year at school but I have taken his lesson slot as I embark on learning the guitar - at 50! Jon is very patient and already I appreciate music a little more and can enjoy my progress. Jon is an accomplished musician who shares and instills his own love and passion of music in others. He is a truly remarkable bloke who makes the world a better place.

I have been having drum lessons on and off with Jon for the past 15 + years. Not only is he 'annoyingly' talented, and an accomplished musician on multi disciplines, he's a very good teacher as well. I teach myself in the outdoors, and so now a bit about getting your point across easily and concisely, it can be tricky. But he knows how to tap into your learning style/s, and what makes you think and tick. I use to drive an hour for lessons, but since he has taken it online, I think it's loads better. Mainly because now i can sit in the comfort of my own home and play my own kit (I'm funny like that, i do prefer my own kit) but also I don't have to travel! So save fuel and time. Also his camera set up is wicked, as you can see EXACTLY what you need to. So for example we recently chatted about foot technique and his camera went there (bad sandals...sorry Jon ) and i could see the foot and what i needed to achieve. He can also share music with you online and break down pieces/time signatures by sharing screens so you can follow a specific piece of music easily whilst he plays and you follow the notation - brilliant. So if you're looking for music lessons, and Jon plays it (he probably does) then i can't recommend the old bean highly enough.

Jon took over teaching my son guitar after a bad experience with a previous Music teacher which really shook him for many months as he was primary age at the time. Jon made a difference, was patient and calming and restored my sons confidence in a music teacher again. Although my son decided to step off lessons again for now due to other commitments and general Teen tiredness, I do believe that my son has become friends with his guitar again which is what I hoped for. A bad teacher can destroy a young person's whole experience for many years, even life, and no one has the right to spoil the music for another. Music is a beautiful gift and thanks to Jon, my son was able to appreciate this once again. He was not aiming to be the next Jimi Hendrix, just learning how to enjoy his guitar. Job done. I think that Jon is a great teacher. Thanks Jon!
