The Old Hall

This care home lost two thirds of residents during covid. The standard of care is poor and the staff are unsupervised during weekends and after 4.30pm. There is only a wifi connection for phone calls so if your loved one is in the wrong place poor connectivity. My parent was able to leave twice without the staff noticing. Cut parents hair short because its easier for them to manage. Didn't initially provide parent with sanitary products despite being incontinent. On visiting found parent in state of undress looked for clean underwear and clean trousers this is when came to light no sanitary pads where available. When asked where parents clean clothes were was told washing machine broken for two weeks. Several complaints have been made to the CQC with the result being met with the threat of a 28 day notice to leave. Despite reports to social services nothing done. Unfortunately no Lasting Power of Attorney in place so unable to remove parent from this hovel.

I am very pleased with the care my mum receives at The Old Hall. My mum settled quickly and is very happy with all the new friends she has made.

I can't thank Diane and her team highly enough for the way they looked after my mum. The love they gave her, right up to the end of her life with cancer. Nothing was too much trouble for them, kind, caring and considerate. Hazel does an amazing job keeping residents entertained and the food is fabulous. I've eaten it myself so I can vouch this is correct. During the last week of mum's life I moved in to be with her, and all the staff were amazing, to both mum and myself. I can't recommend The Old Hall enough. Beautiful rooms, excellent activities, great food and a team of carers second to none. They didn't win the Sun Award this year for nothing!! AMAZING PLACE.
