Came to halifax today to visit this grim artifact from the past.its situated about a 10 minute walk from the train station.halifax is a lovely little town nestled in the Pennines, lots of history and it as the peace hall, today it's snowing but it didn't stop the people coming to shop and enjoy this lovely meeting place.halifax is just 30 mins from Leeds by train and costs 1.95-lovely day out.

Interesting piece of history. This is a 16th century guillotine located in Halifax. Its not much to look at. The base is original and was discovered in the 1800s but the wooden device itself is a reconstruction. Theres also a very helpful information board. Worth a visit if youre passing and interested in the history. Great for a photo opportunity with your head in the block!
