The Gate Cafe Bar and Deli

Don't normally eat here but the cafe I frequent was closed. They had a Lovely selection of food liked how I could choose the bread. It was very busy so had to wait a long time for order to arrive which isn't a problem (it's good to see a family run business this busy on a monday) although drinks arrived quickly so were almost gone/cold by the time food came. Found the gourmet sandwiches pricey, and the filling was scarce, the coleslaw was runny and could do with more carrots ect, so didn't look appetising. The staff were friendly, attentive and it was clean with a good atmosphere. It was my first visit and I would visit again just not for gourmet sandwiches.

Glad I didn't read the reviews prior to my visit, or I wouldn't have gone! It was nothing special and was quite expensive. A jacket potato and filling was just short of 7, so for a jacket for me and my wife and a couple of bottles of water, it was around 17. Other options are available in the locality for a similar price, but much better quality.

Terrible small breakfast under cooked sausage egg raw ,baguette tasted doughy not good.
