Lapal House

My Mother, in her 90s has been in Lapal House for over 2 years now. When she moved in, she was in a very poor state, despite having had Carers in to her twice a day, in her own home. The improvement in her physical and mental state has been huge. The Staff and Management are lovely and very friendly. Lots of activities and entertainment and trips out in the minibus for those that want to go. Mum is constantly telling me, I could not have found a better place for her to be.

I didn't like the overall feel of this place. When I came to visit the 2 care staff I seen and said hello to ignored me and didn't look happy. I also met a Housekeeper whilst on my visit and she didn't sound happy either. God knows how the residents feel. The buzzers were going and not answered in a timely manner. When I finally met the manager she was very abrupt and sharp in how she spoke to me. As I left, the buzzers were still going off. I wasn't going to send my relative there, although I did find another care home.

Not very great with customer care values. Seem to struggle with telephone calls and being polite to the person calling, sometimes ask personal questions that have nothing to do with themselves when someone is just attempting to obtain necessary information. Provide an excellent care environment though at the same time and are always one hundred percent in this way. Thanks for sharing this written document.
