We started our process end of july, with signing our solicitors contract first week of August, with an approximate time scale of 8-10 weeks.
Communication was barely there, we would wait a week for a reply after sending an email for an update only to be told, just going through the notes and I'll send you an update, this went on for weeks with no update.
At week 14 our solicitor left with no notice and I only found out after trying to contact her, again a week after not hearing back from her only to be told she had left.
It wasnt untill week 18 when we got our first set of forms to sign I noticed a spelling mistakes on my natwest form.
At this point we were only weeks away from our expiry date and without having this fixed they wouldn't give me a completion date. My solicitor would not speak to me directly on the phone and would send messages through the receptionist, when im paying the money you charge I should be able to speak to my solicitor on phone as she didnt reply to her emails.
I had lost faith in her and felt like nothing was progressing and called crying on the phone I was that stressed, I was worried we would loose our offer as fixing the spelling mistakes was taking a long time, only to speal to your legal assistant.
This I wouldn't recommend, she was cold and spoke me with no empathy and a harsh tone, almost shouting at me when im crying down the phone to her scared it's not going to be done in time, it was December at this point and should have been completed months prior.
I then received an email from the legal assistant saying if I thought I could help I could call natwest myself, which I did and the spelling mistake was resolved in a matter of days.
We completed 6th January week 22, 15 days before our 6 month offer expired after being quote 8-10 weeks.
