Despite its location and space available this fails as a central unifying community space. Why? Some years ago I enquired about 'hiring' the hall for having a small meditation group. The woman I spoke to began squirming, her face had a pained expression. Unable to express in words what her body was yelling out. Eventually she meekly said as a christian place of worship thay can't have anything non christian. I stated it wasn't religious mindfulness is secular, and used by the NHS. I also asked how they were able to have Yoga and Qi Gong. Neither is christian, or didn't they know? She couldn't answer. It took a while but The reason is now clear, those groups are led by white people. So the real reason I was dissuaded from hiring, i.e. paying money for a room, was because I was not white. I've been familiar with this church for more than half its existence over 50 years, since school. The undercurrent of racism is as strong as ever. Replete with Anglican mannerisms of perpetual distaste and snooty superiority. At a recent polling day, I could see how the area's demographic has changed to a majority of non whites. So to persist with their racist apartheid is unacceptable. Wake up this isn't what Jesus was all about. So stop highjacking his name to push your ideological prejudices.

This is a really good place. Though a lot of the people here are very reserved . Not particularly warm experience. I like coming here to a certain extent but can feel uncomfortable some of the time. I wish More of the people here were a bit more friendly and shared some of Christian love .
