Great food, but not so great at catering for unusual dietary requirements. Hence four star instead of five.

Visited this pub/restaurant having spotted it driving past and been excited by the smokehouse. Having moved a long way south we left our old place behind so a new more local one was welcome. Booking a table was a bit tricky requiring a call backed the following day but table secured we drove up from Exmouth to eat. On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming, but the place itself has an odd feel to it. Maybe being very quiet didn't help but there was little atmosphere. Strange choice of wines for my partner but she settled for the driest they had, and I tried a beer. Again the staff were brilliant and attentive. We perused the menu and swerved the very tempting platter for two going for half a rack of ribs and the brisket. Arrived with sides with a reasonale wait. The portions sizes are good although the inclusion of a small bread stick chunk with lots of butter seemed a very odd inclusion. Brisket was good, the onion rings the star and the chips were chunky and tasty. The spicy beans were a nice addition too.. However the ribs were very disappointing. Tough and almost impossible to break apart with the knife supplied. Again onions rings great, and the.sides (odd piece of bread aside) were good. Overall food was ok but nothing standout and maybe the place has more atmosphere when busy but disappointing. The staff were great however.

Friendliest restaurant ever, so so welcoming and lovely people. Amazing food and huge portions. Love the decor and outside area is lovely. The boyf was impressed that the heaters all had isolator switches which shows attention to detail! Nothing bad to say whatsoever
