This undiscovered quiet part of London is unknown to everyone but the people who know and love it's charms, once an enclave in the Borough of Finsbury, it was the home to London's Little Italy, centered around Leather lane market it was a bustling friendly place to grow up in, I born on the Bourne estate and spent my early years here, the atmosphere even in those early years was enthralling, Chorpus Christi was the highlight of the year, the area has changed an awful lot since then but the location is still home and aways worth a revisit, to the east is the gateway to the order of Saint John, then head west onto Clerkenwell green itself with it's magnificent church then cross farringdon road once the home to London's second hand book market, pass along the road to Hatton garden the jewellery workshop of London, not appreciated as much as Bond Street but has a lot more shops to browse, the next street is Leather lane market, no longer a fruit and vegetable market as it once was but it now feeds the appetite of hungry office workers, this like all the other villages of London are to be explored and enjoyed on a day trip, s stone's from the west end or if you are in a mood to go off piste head down Gray's Inn road to High Holborn,, to the east is either down the left fork is Smithfield Meat Market an beyond the Barbican centre, or take the right fork to take you to the old bailey and onto st. Paul's cathedral, or take the West towards the west end and Oxford Street, for the adventurous Lincoln's Inn Fields entrance is hidden down an alleyway between two buildings on the south side of the road, another of London's hidden and overlooked parks.
