While away on holiday at haven I booked in at the stables (06/08/2022) I booked the kids club for my daughter who rode PO, she said she really enjoyed it then I booked myself on to the 1hr trek and I rode Hamish. I did enjoy my ride out but found it strange I had to sign a form to say I could ride off lead rein despite filling a form out with my details and riding ability on (feel this was not looked over properly) then the lass that assisted me on (amy) made me feel like I was a non rider and didn't know what I was doing and I was on the verge of dismounting and not taking part in the ride but i stayed on as I wanted to go and enjoy myself despite this. Also on the ride I was the only one out of the 4 of us on that could ride considering the 1 hour trek is walk and trot, I wouldn't recommend those that can't ride to trot as a sujestion doing a ride more for experienced riders (1hr walk and trot) and one for less experienced riders (walk only) if not that one of mixed ability(more experience riders to trot only and meet back up with those that at the walk pace) and also to take note of the forms that you get riders to fill out so you are assigning them to the correct horse based on there riding ability along side height and weight. But on plus side I can't fault the 2 staff members that took us out where both very lovely and very formative of the local area. Also fab you get the opertunity to have your photo taken on your assigned horse and have it printed there and then as a photo, keyring plus many more options to choose from. I would book my daughter on again if we come back to the haven site but maybe skip booking myself unless there is an option for the more experienced rider.

It wasn't the greatest experience. The people had no understanding for special needs. One of the staff helping to fit hats was very rude to my child because she was struggling to talk but never said to me that she was going to fit my child's hat. They never told us what was happening once we were on the horses and just took us to staff who were riding as well. On the trek there was a narrow section that was over grown. They never mentioned that you should probably wear trouser or you will get stung by nettles. As the staff member leading us was riding my childs leg got pinched between the horses which left a visible bruise. We were not to happy with how they treated us and the fact they didn't seem to know anything about the size of the horse to the person. I would not recommend as it was not a good experience.
