The owner and security staff at this establishment are horrific. My friends and I left the venue feeling unsafe. As we were leaving, a girl, who was probably no older than 20, was standing outside the confines of cheap velour velvet rope. She was wearing a short sleeved t shirt, no coat, standing in the rain and was being shouted at by the security and owner. My friends and I explained how she was unsafe being left outside by herself, it was 12.30 at night, she was cold, scared, and unsafe. The owner and security insisted that she was not allowed back in. They stated that her brother was fetching his things and would he out momentarily. I tried to mention that the girl could stay inside the confines of the smoking area, or at least get a jacket; since at this point she was alone, afraid, underdressed, and unprotected by those who are meant to be protecting her. The attitudes displayed by the owner were disgusting. Refusing entry for a girl, who was wearing a wristband for the event and had actually been inside 10 minutes previously, though they insisted she was not allowed inside. During the course of this argument, myself and my 3 friends had left the venue, along with at least 5 other individuals who were leaving the venue to go home. Does it make so much difference to let in one girl? No. The lack of respect and humility shown by the owner of Gigis Hoxton is sickening. The misogyny shown by the security staff; as well as the owner, is reflective of attitudes from decades ago. I hope you realise what you are responsible for; the safety of all women who patronise your establishment. Shame on you. I would like to discuss this matter with you further, any inability; or hesitancy, to do so will show your inability to respect and protect womens safety and opinions.

Booked an area in Gigis for my 30th. They charged a 5 deposit per person which could be used as a tab for the night which was fair. Drinks are a little pricey but the location itself is really cool and quirky. Unfortunately when we arrived for my birthday we couldnt even see where the area was despite my partner delivering balloons beforehand and a request to decorate. The balloons were no where to be seen at first, placed somewhere at the far end of the bar. Despite the fact it was Saturday the bar stayed pretty much empty for the whole night which wasnt great for atmosphere. Some of the door staff were pretty rude and not all my guests were allowed in for unclear reasons. Its an ok spot for a weeknight drinks but probably would not recommend this for an occasion.
