On Friday 31st March I succumbed to a very painful and extensive attack of shingles . At 85 I am not an early riser so when my daughter rang for an appointment there were none left . However the reception staff were brilliant and with what must have been considerable effort they rang back with an emergency slot. I attended the surgery unwashed, half dressed and with a very bad hair day!I was treated with extreme courtesy and patience by Dr Ruth Gertig who took care to explain every step of the treatment in spite of the fact that her schedule was crammed. So in this era of complain, complain( I am guilty of this myself )may I just offer my sincere thanks to the Reception staff and Dr Gertig who saved me from a weekend in hospital corridors .

Phoned up to get emergency appointment as was worried about my 1 year old child having a consistant rash. Told no appointments available didn't ask the age of my child or there name or any details on the matter. Just said to ring 111 or at 8am in morning. My partner decided to take her to the receptionist and was given an emergency appointment straight away after being told on phone there was none.

What has happened to this previously efficient practice? Ring at 8am get through if you are lucky @ 9;50 , to be told no appointments left ,ring again next day same again. While in terrible pain and trying to get a non repeat prescription. Referred to " pharmacy team" two days later a query from said team, still no prescription, now running out of medication. Next day another query from pharmacy team all through receptionist, not direct to me. Told they will text me when available able. So from Monday through to Friday no prescription. Get a text message Friday tea time going to doctor for signing. I am now out of said medication and it is a drug that must not be stopped abruptly, attend chemist Saturday and Sunday still no prescription, now without medication on Monday for third day and in severe pain. Is this just incompitance or the undermining of the practice/ health services to justify privatisation? All I know is I am still waiting and in pain!!!
