Asked whether they could price a list of already quantified works, they confirmed and asked for payment (nearly 3 times the prices stated on their website for the same size of the job), and sent through documents with no headed paper or signature. When asked to re-send the estimate they had been paid for on headed paper, first they asked for another 150 saying they couldnt take responsubility (for their own estimate?!), and then refused to provide it at all.
3 phone calks and an email with the opening of a complaint - no answer from management.
Now the point is, if youre lucky and they got things right, no problem. But who takes resoonsibility if they have made a mistake and you paid to have an estimate that isnt even on the companys headed paper? And what trust can you place on a company that refuses to produce their work on their own headed paper because they cant take responsibility (their own words)?
Btw mybuild estimate credibility aside, it is a legal requirement in the UK for registered companies to produce documents on headed paper.
