Houses look good but when you get further in to the estates they look small for the price I suppose you pay for the area

Sent in an enquiry about available houses via the website. Received a phone call back in prompt time. We were looking at The Lavenham style properties, two of which were advertised on the website as for sale. We were told that one had an offer accepted, and they didn't know what the status of the other one was, but it was probably gone. Taylor Wimpey didn't know what the status of their own home was. Good start. I contacted them roughly a week later to enquire again given the site still had it listed, only to be told it had just sold. So basically, it was available, and I missed out because they were unclear about it the first time round. Thanks. A week later The Lavenham was still showing as available on their website, so I rang again. None of the The Lavenham's are available, I'm told. The website is not up to date. Three days later I receive an email listing all the available properties still left on the site. The Lavenham is one of them. I ring up, no it's not available. So why did you say it was? Why is this so complicated? Are they just terrible at updating their systems, or is this a lie to keep interest up? My searches elsewhere weren't going well, so I agreed to come over to the site to view a different style property in the off-chance we liked it. At the same time, I managed to get a viewing for an existing property on Galley Hill via a local estate agent. Lovely couple, but the house and estate were terrible - very boxy, estate felt a bit oppressive and untidy even in the bits that were completed a year prior. The property was on a corner and the drive partially backed onto another properties drive. It looked horrible and was terribly laid out. The price was more than what I'd expect for similar properties in equally desirable areas. Off the back of this we wound up not going to the Taylor Wimpey meeting. We figured there was nothing left that could change out minds at that point, and any willingness from our side had now gone. They did try to contact us shortly after to ask where we were, and seemed genuinely stunned when I explained we were giving it a miss. As I went to my car to leave, I saw the board advertising what properties were still available on the site. They still hadn't taken the listing down for The Lavenham. Was an incredible disappointment of mismanaged expectations, especially given we'd travelled up from Leeds. Thankfully found another property since. The experience was terrible though, these were basic enquiries and even they couldn't be carried out. Won't be giving any of my time to Taylor Wimpey in future. I gave them enough opportunities to correct themselves, and all of them were misfires.
