I was walking inside Aldi. The entrance has a one way electronic barrier. Whilst entering I saw an old, brown looking, mid average height lady near the barrier on the other side. She gave me eye contact and I believed she way trying to leave the shop, so I gestured to go round to other exit as this barrier one way only. She says its ok I will wait for you to come near the barriers as it will open, automatically, from your side. As I ignored her and continued to walk towards the barriers and into the shop and as Im walking, she is crossing and mumbles something and I sense she is about to touch me. I move my body away to avoid contact, however she slaps my arm firmly without consent. I turned around firmly and said do not touch me, 3 times to which she mumbles back. At this point I was furious and threatened and felt my physical boundaries had not been respected and I felt disrespected and attacked. As I speed up to the centre of the shop I turn back to the same lady, standing at the entrance gesturing at me. I give her the middle finger as I was angry at her touching me. I was worried she was going to follow me and attack me. I tried to find a security guy with no avail. I ask a black man working at the self checkouts, mid 30s to whether there was a security guards to which he replied no. Once again checking the entrance I see that the old lady had left and I had no idea where she was and was worried she would pop out of no where. Once I finish shopping I wait at the self checkouts to pay for my groceries. As I entered the self checkouts to pay for my goods, the checkout staff who had said there was no security guy had asked me what was the matter, I said there was crazy lady trying to exit from the one way, to which he shook his head and face dismissively to gesture that it was not a serious problem and when I explained she slapped me, he did the same thing again dismissively. Aldi should be hiring competent staff, who are able to communicate and resolve matter empathetically instead of hiring narcissistic, avoidants who are incapable of understanding and processing another human beings feelings and issues. As well as that as a customer there was no protection in keeping me safe and I can only predict in the future what kind of nonsense this branch is going to turn a blind eye on. Standard of this colleague what absolutely rubbish, where do they find these kind of people to work. They should of banned this lady, especially someone who is disrespecting other peoples boundaries.
