We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at the woodpecker tree temple with our two boys. It was full of character, cosy and looking up at the stars in the wood fired hot tub was amazing. Our hosts were very welcoming and on hand for any queries we had. It had everything we needed to enjoy staying on site but we did venture out on recommendations to a fantastic pub called The Dabbling Duck and a day trip to Brancaster and Hunstanton. Wed definitely look at returning and trying some of the other accommodation they have on site with hot tubs.

Stayed over the weekend at toad hall and what a lovely place, so quiet peaceful and relaxing. The lodge is set in from the road surrounded by trees and fields, its completely secluded which is very hard to find places like that now and having your own area is a bonus! We need to try out some of the other places on the site as they look great too! Temperature inside was spot on, not too cold not too hot, we had a welcome letter and a bar of chocolate upon arrival which was a nice touch! There is so many things to enjoy about this place, we loved everything! The balcony, the decking and of course the amazing hot tub! The fire pit in front of the lodge was amazing in the evenings watching the sun go down! We popped into the Tesco on our way up just for food, apart from that you have everything you need! There is a massive retail park about 15 mins drive which has places like, Pizza Hut, Tesco, Sainsburys, McDonalds, Argos, Dominos you name it, its there. There is also lovely ponds, parks and woodlands to enjoy nearby with free parking. I cant find a single fault in this company, extremely professional, always on hand to help, this was our second time and there will definitely be a third! I highly recommend! Thank you again! All the best, J&J

Booked this cabin for my partners birthday. Paid 370 for 2 nights, accom only. When we arrived, the cabin was absolutely freezing. We lit the fire straight away and put the radiators up to max. About an hour later we realised that there was a thermostat in the bedroom, telling us that it was 13 degrees (this was an hour after we had had the radiators on and a fire going). We were confused as to why there were no instructions on the heating. We attempted to get the wood fire hot tub going too as this was one of the main reasons for me choosing Happy Valley. We couldnt get the water warm at all. I did receive a message a few days prior saying I could have had the hot tub pre lit for a charge of 40, I said this was a shame and the response was we dont make a profit out of this. Ive worked in Hospitality for many years and thought this was a strange reason to not go the extra mile. You dont provide tea bags in the cabin to make a profit surely? We messaged our host on day 2, a gentleman came and helped light the hot tub with several tips on what to do. Unfortunately these werent printed anywhere inside the cabin. We were later informed that these were sent to us by email 3 days prior however there is no access to phone signal or Wi-Fi. Without any guidance on lighting the hot tub, we wasted half our logs. Again, if we wanted to use more there was a charge. We also let him know that a few rings on the hot tub werent working and that a light had gone out in the bathroom. With taking such a large damage deposit and the pas-agg messages everywhere including in the welcome pack and signs around the place I didnt want to be charged for any of these faults. Check out/check in times are earlier and later than usual (4pm check in and 10am check out) and despite the 6 hour change over, we are still asked to strip beds, towels etc I wouldnt do this in a 5 star hotel. Written in the bathroom within the cabin, sent to me via email is a plea to rate Happy Valley 5 stars, there is a strange rating system printed in a photo frame propped up next to the toilet The facilities are great (the cabin itself) but the service and the added extras are lacking big time. Ive stayed in air bnbs before where there has been a nice basket of bread, cookies, milk in the fridge etc and these have cost us 80 a night! A damage deposit was taken but in terms of cleanliness felt as though we were treading on egg shells not wanting to mess anything up. A message on the hot tub read that if there were to be make up or hair gel reminisces in the hot tub we would be charged for cleaning. We expected the place to be spotless but found mould beginning to grow within the pans and the cobwebs on the ceiling. A lot of the communication and the instructions were regarding things you cant do rather than what you can enjoy. I dont feel as though we were looked after the best we could have and left feeling disappointed with our stay. My partner and I have stayed away many times. We messaged our hosts half way and also afterwards to express our disappointment but nothing was done in regards to a solution. Everything within the review above has been mentioned but I still managed to receive an automated survey about how important it was to rate 5 stars
