Review Edited & Updated for accuracy. I visited Allenby Stevenson but had to take action to against them following a problem with our flooring purchase. After viewing a range of wood flooring with Karen & Jonathon Stevenson & considering other flooring suppliers I decided to proceed. I had lower competitive prices with online suppliers for the same product but decided to shop with a local business rather than online. Allenby Stevenson arranged for my floor to be measured by a member of their staff. Based entirely on those measurements, Allenby Stevenson calculated a square meter floor area & advised I would require 16 packs of the flooring I had chosen. After the flooring was installed by our professional joiner, I was left with various full lengths & off cuts expected wastage from 14 flooring packs to fully complete the project. This meant I had 2 flooring packs unopened surplus from the 16 I was advised to purchase by Allenby Stevenson. I spoke with Karen Stevenson via telephone to raise a straightforward refund of the 2 surplus packs oversupplied. Despite emphasising the quantity of flooring packs supplied was based entirely on Allenby Stevensons measurements & calculations, Karen Stevenson voiced various inappropriate excuses & an obstinate refusal to refund for the oversupplied flooring. It was abundantly clear from independent verified measurements & assessing them against those created & calculated by Allenby Stevenson that significant errors on their drawn-up floor plan were made. Further scrutiny of floor/room area illustrated erroneous positions of staircase & one doorway, plus another doorway which was totally omitted! Measurements also indicate a key wall measured longer than its actual extent. Obviously, all of these errors lead to the incorrect calculation of square metre floor area. Consequently, I escalated matters & raised a written complaint to Jonathon Stevenson for his attention. Inexplicably, Jonathon Stevenson failed to amicably resolve matters directly, within an appropriate & reasonable timescale forcing me to pursue further action. After obtaining appropriate formal advice with Trading Standards I raised the issue with my bank who were astounded at the improper attitude of this retailer. Fortunately, my bank promptly took steps which resulted in a full settlement for the cost of flooring packs oversupplied by Allenby Stevenson Ltd thus preventing legal action. The attitude & discourteous service experienced from staff at Allenby Stevenson was absolutely appalling. No apology received for the shameful service and attempt to swindle me speaks volumes.

Brilliant and professional! Good quality products and exceptional service. We had wooden floors and carpets installed by Allenby Stevenson team recently. I would highly recommend them.
