Fabulous location, Staff are very welcoming and dog friendly. Staying in the bunkhouse of the inn. Very clean and running hot showers,kitchen and other amenities included. Value for money and we did have an enjoyable time. We will be back for the Sunday dinner, thank you so much for the experience, definitely recommended.

I had the steak pie with chips here and it was truly excellent. The chef must have reviewed the size of a cow and determined that a whole cow could not fit into a pie, however they have clearly stuffed as much delicious tender steak in between the thick crusty pastry as is physically possible. Onto the dessert. I'm not fussy about my dessert but I was very happy with the size and level of chocolate and cream in my fudge pudding. My mother on the other hand is exceptionally fussy about puddings, and even she sang the praises of the raspberry pavlova, which came with a forest of berries. Beverages - my wife and I had some very solid pints of cider and pale ale respectively Service - very cheerful staff Very cosy log fire! Great location for climbing blencathra.
