Sophie May Makeup Artist & Teacher

Having almost no experience at applying make up, I decided to book a 3 hour make up lesson with Sophie and I can hand on heart say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! From the moment I arrived not a second of the time was wasted and I was shown how to do everything in easy to follow steps which was later followed up in a message with instructions (this turned out to be very helpful!) . Sophie was patient in answering all of my questions and made me feel at ease for the duration of the lesson. It was 100% worth a day trip down to Margate where she has recently located to.

Sophie did my makeup and the bridesmaids makeup for my wedding this July and she was absolutely wonderful. I truly felt the most beautiful that I have ever felt, which is what every bride dreams of on their wedding day! How Sophie did my makeup was just perfect. Sophie highlighted my natural features beautifully and she has such a gentle and attentive manner. Sophie truly was such a blessing on my wedding day.

Amazing makeup artist and was a joy to be around on the morning of my wedding. My sister was pregnant and wasn't feeling overly confident but Sophie made us all feel special and beautiful. Not only did she create beautiful looks but she helped calm us all down. Highly recommend! Thank you Sophie!!

I had the absolute pleasure of having a 121 MUA lesson with Sophie recently. I came across Sophie's work on Instagram and as soon as I saw her work I knew I had to learn with her. Her work is absolutely beautiful and so, so precise. There is so much competition nowadays but Sophie really does stand out in the crowd with her amazing attention to detail and passion, both of which are clearly displayed from her portfolio. Sophie was so welcoming and from my initial email enquiry through to my lesson she was so keen and interested in what I wanted to learn. This, I feel, is a huge difference in Sophie's teaching style and sets her apart from other 121 artists, she really cares and wants to help you learn and do a good job. Listening and encouraging from the first brush stroke. Sophie encouraged hugely on areas I felt unconfident in and took her time to explain things in different ways, in an encouraging and un-patronising way. We laughed so much throughout the 3 hours , it really was such a great lesson. Sophie really does care about doing a good job and nurturing those who learn with her. Having worked for MAC for so long her product knowledge is unbelievable and she gave me so many tips and tricks and even solved my mascara misery! I can't wait to book in for another lesson and I cannot recommend Sophie enough to those wanting to learn from a real pro, she really is amazing. Now maybe it's time to find a boyfriend so she can do my wedding makeup....
