It would be amazing if UK could turn back into this completely. Imagine returning the entire island back into this beautiful, wild, woodland. And still have a few major cities dotted around. How much better would life be for Brits and animals?

Aside from dog mess 100 yds into any path from the road (why not take home?) these mixed woods with streams, water meadows and charming walks are a firm favourite.

Paid for parking is payable only by mobile and there is no mobile signal pretty much anywhere around the woods.

Mixed woodland although much of it is slowly being returned to deciduous woodland. Both highland cattle and konik ponies graze the wood. Art walk is lovely with full disabled access and good paths. Rest has normal earth paths that get muddy and rutted especially in winter.
