Did not stay here, was visiting property next door. The location is very good, just off the A69, the road ends just past the property. It is a nice quite area, with the golf course behind and a short walk to the pennine way. In the village there is a cafe and the hotel both of which are good. Short drive away is the Still and the Roman wall. Placed close to the Northumberland-Cumbria border lots of rural places to visit or a reasonable drive to the shops of Carlise or hexham. Bus and train go to the metro centre and Newcastle

Stanegate is a beautifully appointed two-bedroomed cottage in a lovely secluded location a few hundred yards from Greenhead village. Could not be better for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the surrounding countryside. Sam & Steve have certainly made this into a dog-friendly home from home. Stunning views from the small fenced courtyard and from the patio area overlooking the golf course. Highly recommended.
