On arriving at the Goat Shed we were seated at table 13, to which my husband said unlucky for some but not for us. How wrong he was. When seated to a nearly empty seating area we went about choosing our food, during this time 5 other tables were seated. Now ready to order I tried to catch the attention of one of the waitress but they were clearing a table. Another waitress entered the area and exclaimed loudly that she didnt have any idea who was first and went to the end of the area and started to take the orders of everyone that had come after us. On reaching us my husband politely said that we had been waiting around 1/2hour at this point and were in fact before the people she had just served. She replied rather abruptly that she was doing her best and was sorry. Another long wait to the point that people who were seated after us had not only received their food but were indeed leaving, we got our food this time served to us by a very friendly young man. Unfortunately part of our order was missing which in fairness he apologised about and then returned to let us know what was happening and then returned again with the completed order. On leaving we were asked at the till if everything was ok. I politely said unfortunately not and explained the long wait. To lady serving us glazed over said abruptly thanks for your input and without pause told me the amount to pay and waved the card machine in my direction. I have always really rated coming to the Goat Shed and have told many of my friends and family of the brilliant food (this is still brilliant) but I have left very unhappy. If I had been unreasonable or rude I could understand the staffs attitude but I feel I had a genuine poor experience and quite frankly the attitude was we couldnt care less. A golden rule of retail is leave your customers happy. Mistakes happen but if they are dealt with correctly people understand, not sure I will be coming back to quickly.

We waited 20 minutes for a table, which we thought was fine for such a popular place however once we were seated it took at least 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks order at which point they said they couldnt take our food order yet. So we ordered 4 teas and after another 15 minutes there was still no sign of them even being made! (How difficult is it to make tea?!) after asking staff again what was going on someone then came to take our food order but said there was at least a half an hour wait on food so we had to abandon our table and get home to feed our toddler instead of waiting over an hour in total to be served an over priced brunch. (I dont mind paying high prices for great quality and service but not when a large flat white is 4.25 and it takes over an hour to get one!!!) The staff should have told us when we were seated that they would not be able to take our food order especially because we were with a toddler who needed lunch. Very disappointed as we wasted a huge amount of time and could have gone somewhere else for brunch if wed known it was going to be such a disaster. There were lots of disappointed customers there today. Its put me and my family off ever going back. The only positive thing was my toddler seeing the cute kids in the farm area.

This first visit was impressive, and the restaurant has a bleeper queue system, so you can look around the farm shop without losing your place in the queue. Service was very quick, with only a few minutes between ordering and delivery of the food, although we only had a sausage roll and coffee and walnut cake, plus drinks. Food quality was excellent. Only down side was the loud music being played, clearly a matter of taste. There are Project EV charging points, although not clear who is permitted to use them, and an RFid card was needed. Poor mobile signal, so the free WiFi was very welcome. Second visit was just as impressive as the first. The G.O.A.T. breakfast was delicious and more than enough for me ( There is a bigger breakfast, which must be a total "belly-buster".) The American style pancakes with bacon was also excellent. This should be on your goto places when in the area.
