Churches Conservation Trust church, St Nicholas can be easily missed in it's grove of trees. The tower is no taller than the nave. With only one side aisle, it gives the impression that the church is wider than it is long. There is no chancel to speak of. With a statue of the saint over the door in his guise of patron saint of children. Inside there is a forest of fleur de lys pew ends, large and imposing. Light and airy and far from any main road the atmosphere is peaceful and very rural. There was a noisy rookery very nearby which gave an eerie feeling to the churchyard.

Perfect peace in a rural setting at this very special church. It has an unusual octagonal round tower. There aren't many stained glass windows, however there is plenty to see inside including an organ and font. The graveyard is well kept and worth walking round. The church is open during daylight hours. There isn't easy parking, so it's best to leave your car on the lane and walk along the gravel driveway. Alternatively it is a lovely place to cycle to.
