Great Shefford Post Office

This is a very well stocked village store,if pricey.

Freshly baked pastries and selection of baked goods are great. They've got pretty much everything you could want from a small village shop. We are very lucky to have a local post office and the staff seem knowledgeable and efficient about sending lots of types of parcels, even overseas- much more so than in some other similar small post offices!

Not exactly what I would call customer friendly. I had an awkward parcel to return, but within the limits set by the post office (dimensions and weight). The older gentleman running it was at best ambivalent and at worst dismissive both on the phone while I was asking whether it would be acceptable and slightly grudging when I took the parcel in. Not even a smile, a thank you or otherwise 'normal' level of politeness. All I was trying to do was return something originally delivered by the Post Office, using the guidance and postage labels provided by the seller. They are my most local PO, but I will try to avoid them and use Stockcross, who are always helpful and friendly.
