Myself and my family have been patients at GEHC for approx 4 years now. Weve never had a problem getting an appointment, yes theres been a long wait sometimes when calling at 8am, but this is a nationwide problem, not just GEHC and weve always been given an appointment the same day! The doctors and nurses here are always friendly, compassionate and caring. The receptionists are lovely and have always been helpful when weve been to the surgery. As a nurse myself, I know the pressure they are all working under and so I wanted to leave a review to thank them for all their hard work and for always looking after me and my family when we need them. Youre all amazing =)

Prescribed a cream, cancelled my usual delivery service as I needed cream that day. Cream not in stock at pharmacy. Cancelled pharmacy prescription so reception re did my prescription but wasnt approved until the next day. Im now not going to get me prescription until 3 days later and Im not here so its going to be a week late. Spent about 4 hours trying to sort this to no avail still no cream. No one seemed to understand how to correct this.

I booked a general health check up at The Great Ecclestone Health Centre as it was recommended due to my age, however, the Nurses and especially ( Sister Lindsay Davies) was very abrasive and questioned why I was asking for a general check up for cholesterol levels/diabetes/blood pressure/heart/ PSA prostrate etc - furthermore, I would say that the attitude of Sister Lindsay Davies and a few of the other nurses was rather rude, abrupt and very unprofessional considering that the health service are trying encourage men of my age to have health checks more regularly because we tend to leave health issues until it is sometimes too late. It was also interesting to note that one of the doctors (I wont name) at this surgery said that 'General Health Checks' should be carried out every 5 years ! - I am, and many others are of the opinion that 'General Health Checks' especially given my age, should be carried out every year if possible, the checks are straight forward and fairly quick to undertake, they could save time and expense in the long run and more importantly 'they could save your life' ! I have paid my National Insurance for all my life ' I am entitled to the National Health Care that I have helped pay for ! (and before you ask, I am using the google account of a friend as I do not have a PC or internet)

Doctors fine, ONCE you get through to them. Can never get an appointment as its triaged by the receptionist. Call at 8am every morning, spend an hour on the phone and don't get anywhere. Can't book weeks in advance. What doctors takes appointments for that day only. Why when you ring and ask for an appointment do they ask for everything that's up and then say sorry computer says noooo, there's no appointments. If you know there are no appointments don't waste my time making me go through everything. Pretty apparent the receptionist makes the decision as to whether you get seen or not, zero ability to put two and two together. The symptoms i described are diabetes related but no comprehension and simply told to keep trying each morning. Shocking, will be leaving and wouldn't recommend.

Kept holding for over an hour, only to be told by a very rude receptionist that they don't have any appointments available and I need to phone back in the morning - would suggest some staff training in customer service as a minimum - Don't bother!
