Worth a visit, not much to see only a small stone obelisk marking where there once a cottage built by captain's cook father. Such a shame it was ever sold off and dismantled. Even by 1930s standards, it was an important part of the Cook's history and should never have been sold. Perhaps in years to come, a replica may be built, let's hope so.

Nothing to see here and only worth a visit if you want to say you've been to the site of his house.

The cottage no longer stands on this site having been moved to Melbourne, and was never actually inhabited by Captain Cook! Detailed information boards explaining the story behind this, and an obelisk constructed from stone from Cape Everard, Australia. The site is small but very well kept.
