I have recently placed my aunt at Springkell House, after 3 years at Sunrise and all I can say is that I wish I had done this sooner! The home is cozy, warm and clean with lovely bedrooms, set in wonderful surroundings in the hills with clear, fresh air. The lounges are delightful and homely and the little dining room is entirely pleasant and opens out onto a very pleasant patio garden. The food is excellent - good, wholesome and well cooked and they make a Birthday cake for the residents - totally unexpected and very much appreciated! The staff are all marvellous! They have bent over backwards to help my aunt settle and are incredibly caring and proactive in their approach to her and us as family members and visitors. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. There are plenty of activities to help the residents engage and they are also encouraged to spend time outside in the garden. The ethos is clearly very much focused towards giving the residents the best quality of life possible in sometimes very difficult circumstances.
